I love when clients bring me an item and say
“Do it. Paint it. I don’t care . . . Whatever you do I know it will be great”
A blank Canvas? Do what I want?
YES YES YES all day long.
I absolutely love having the freedom to try a different technique and mixing colors!
So that’s exactly what happened with this bench. My client hated the original color:
Ok so I didn’t hate the original color as much as she did . . .
But I did agree it needed to be painted.
So let’s do this!
Unfortunately I don’t have any progressive photos,
but I do have this one after I painted it grey
and started washing it with different paint and stain colors. . .
And here is the final product!
I started with a base coat of medium grey paint.
Then I added a dark stain on top and then finished off with a white washing paint and stain.
I love that you can see the grain the wood with all the colors layered on top of it
Here she is in her new home!
Sooo . . . . What do you think?? 🙂
