Silvery “Jewels” Coffee Table

Hi everyone! Well, I’m finally getting the hang of posting!!

As promised … here’s my new coffee table that I refinished a few months ago. What could’ve possibly replaced Tiffany Blue??? Silvery Jewels did!! I love her so much more!! She’s bigger and fits the space better. Once again shes another $10 Pottery Barn find!! I dont know what the previous owner did to her… but as you can see in the pics… She OBVIOUSLY didn’t take care of her!!

sanded her down a repainted her black….

For this table I used Martha Stewart silver metallic paint ….

Added a metallic dark coffee glaze finish…

I love the way the glaze shows the wood grain throughout…

I am proud to add her as a new collection piece! She’s the perfect jewelry“splash of bling” piece to my living room!!

Hope you love her as much as I do!

  • Christine - Hi I love the silvery jewels coffee table. do you mind sharing a little info about the way you did it? Did you have to prime first? What type of silver paint did you use?

Thanks for your help. It is beautiful!

    • Ruthie - Thank you so much! Yes. I did a very light sanding all over the piece (220 grit), just enough to scuff it up for the primer to adhere. I used Martha Stewart clear primer/sealer. Once it was dry I painted it with Martha Stewart Polished Silver metallic paint. Then once that was dry, I applied one coat of Martha Stewart Black Coffee metallic glaze, let that dry and then applied it once more.. It wasn’t dark enough the first time, but turned out perfectly after the second coat. Hope this helps!!

      • tiffany - Hi your table is beautiful. Did you use the sealer before or after you repainted it black?ReplyCancel

        • Ruthie - I didnt use sealer until the entire piece was finished. That is always the last step.ReplyCancel
