  • WELCOME to House of Rumours…

Hi! I'm Ruthie and I'm in love with every aspect of design. Everything from chic design to rustic decor to modern industrial builds! I don’t care what it is, I LOVE IT ALL!!

I dream at night of my next project, whether its a new wall finish, building or painting a piece of furniture or tackling an entire room makeover. I ABSOLUTELY love metallics & shine and therefore try to incorporate a little “bling” in all that I do.

I offer interior design consultation and custom refinishing work here in here AZ. Feel free to contact me for an estimate!

Ok, so since I had all my power tools out. . . Why not tackle another wood project??? SO I DID JUST THAT! The baseboards weren’t even completely up from our flooring project and I decided to start my long awaited pallet wall! I had desperately been itching to decorate this space above my wine fridge […]

  • Suzanne - I absolutely love this idea! Looks fantastic!ReplyCancel

  • Julie bro - OMG I absolutely LOVE this!!! I want it in my house!!! I wonder where I could do it….any ideas?ReplyCancel

  • Julie Bro - Looking at this again when I had time to read it & really see how this was done it’s so awesome! You are such an artist! It gave me a vision of staggering the wood just like u did but leaving each piece of the “wall wood puzzle” a bit longer & having certain planks be raised out of the wall …I can’t really explain, I’d have to draw it for u or something. Such an amazing idea & the work you do is honestly the best I’ve ever seen! Someday if I ever have the money to pay you what you’re worth(a lot) I’m gunna pay you to do whatever you want on my house & make it your empty canvas! I LOVE the wall! You’re awesome!ReplyCancel

    • Ruthie - Julie! You are soo sweet! I know exactly what you mean about the staggering planks and depths! We may do that behind the bar as well! Maybe you can come over and check out the process when we tackle that project?? Thanks again girly for the sweet comments!ReplyCancel

  • Jen - love this! What color stains did you use?ReplyCancel

    • Ruthie - I used a variety of different color stains! Sorry I can’t remember which exact ones, but they were all minwaxReplyCancel

  • Jen - This looks fantastic. I was noticing that your wine fridge doesn’t appear to vent out the front. Have you had any issues with a freestanding unit built in that way?ReplyCancel

    • Ruthie - no it has not been a problem. There’s plenty of space behind the fridge before the wall joins.ReplyCancel

  • Man Cave Ideas | MLB News with John Zimmerebner - […] I don’t need anything fancy, just a small drink bar is all I ask. Pic from Pinterest. Step by step directions from the House of Rumors blog. […]ReplyCancel

Well . . . Here’s my latest project that I’m so happy to share with you! *ENGINEERED HARDWOOD FLOATING FLOOR* Once again I decided to tackle YET another home improvement project!! This was the longest, toughest project I’ve EVER DONE. It’s not because the project required a lot of skill, but mainly because of the tremendous amount of […]

So a couple of weeks ago my little sister and I were chatting about tackling her way outdated kitchen..
