Entertainment Center gone Shabby Chic Desk – Art Room Part 1

Hi everyone!! I’ve been working on quite a few projects this week… check out my facebook page to see what projects are up and coming!!

In the meantime I wanted to share with you a project that my son & I refinished 2 years ago! Seriously feels like just yesterday.. Does time fly or what?? This by far one of my all time favorites and probably biggest project to date!

Lets talk about repurposing…

I wanted a unique desk, something that I felt NO one else had… I searched high and low for an ugly a cheap entertainment center on Craigslist.. Hubs couldn’t fathom where I was going with this desperate search for an entertainment center?? Believe me he was not happy with me when we had to drive about 30 miles away and somehow fit this GINORMOUS 3 piece beast in the back of our truck. We manage to make it fit … when there’s a will there’s a way right? I was eager to bring it home and the couple selling it were desperate eager to get it out of their garage!!

I absolutely love how we were able to repurpose something older, into something beautiful and functional! Hope you like it! By the way, this post is Part 1 of a 3 series post.. after showing all 3 major projects in this room (this entertainment center being the biggest one), I will show the entire room transformation …

…what was once a one time executive business suite turned Art/Craft room!! For all you DIY’ers out there, my hopes are to inspire you to have your own man cave!!

Before ….

exterior primed and painted Behr “Swiss Coffee”, inside bookshelf & new beadboard panels painted Rustoleum Flat Black

Yes, those are mesh speaker panels on the top cabinet doors and glass doors on each side piece… SOON TO BE REMOVED… forever
